According to The Kipplinger Tax Letter, the top 1% of all filers paid 37.4% of all federal taxes in 2010.  The highest 5% paid 59.1%.  The bottom 50% paid only 2.36% of federal taxes in 2010.

Friday Rally Lessens The Blow of a Bad Week.

The market socked investors with its second consecutive weekly big price drop, almost 2%. Stocks managed a small reversal Friday, rallying on some unexpected bonhomie in Washington, D. C., though it wasn’t enough to blunt a bad week.
